Tue Aug 12, 2003 11:43 pm

Hi all

What we are up to at ABZ:

http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=84092&command=displayContent&sourceNode=83929&contentPK=6686617

Been a few months now and working well. Making photography a lot easier and enjoyable.

Cheers

Looks interesting Gary!

A shame we don't get the same approach from the rent-a-cops at EMA. Good luck with this and hope it works out to the benefit of all involved.

Sadly, most of the a*s-holes I've encountered at EMA are actually the private security people who "secure" the airport, not police. Its interesting actually that their vehicles at one time said "Airport Police" or something like that on them, but now they just say "Security" - I wonder if they're not allowed to use the word police anymore? Anyway, a number of these so called security guards seem to suffer from an inferiority complex (which is perhaps understandable given their situation!), and this often seems to manifest itself in a "I'm going to push enthusiasts around because they're an easy target" attitude. Funnily enough, if you're there officially, those same people tend to be quite pleasant. Its a shame, and so short sighted, as can be seen from the link Gary posted.
