I just bought a new scanner (Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III). Since I have
thousands of negatives to scan I just want to do it once. But still I would
like to be able to go back and reedit my scans in the future when I have
learned more about Photoshop. My only purpose for scanning is to make
jpegs at 1024 X 682 pixels resolution. What is the optimal archive format
to save the original scans. Is it to scan at top resolution and save as tiff,
creating huge files just to have a lot of raw data for editing and resizing
in Photoshop or is it enough to scan with just enough resolution to
produce 1024 X 682 output and save as a low compressed jpeg?
Thankful for any thougts on this.
