Possible Copyright Violation At Flyavon.com

Tue Sep 16, 2003 4:21 am

Guys,

I was contacted by the am company for a photo usage. In the beginning they were really interested, talking about exclusivity, license etc......

Anyway after some discussions, all of a sudden they were not interested anymore.

So I went on there website to check it out and see if they just put it on there without having compensated me.

I found some photos of Andrew Hunt, Jan Mogren and I believe Craig Murray and Dean Barnes.

Check it out and see for yourself.

If they asked, fine if not well you know what you have to do.

They contacted me also last week and I visited their site to find my sunset shot on there and another shot, without permission. In my reply I gave them a price quote for what they wanted and I made mention that they were already using two of my photos without permission. She replied back saying they would consider my price and that she would notify their webmaster at their sister company to remove my photos. They are still up and I'll be sending an invoice to them soon.

Dear oh dear! It makes me mad. How hard is it to ask someone? Yes, it might cost them, but that is no excuse. What happened to manners and common decency? Have both disappeared in favour of efficiency? It is extremely easy to combine cost reduction with manners and decency. But no. Instead they decide to take full advantage of a potential customer. Bad luck for them: they have lost a potential customer. And all for the price of one photo.

These guys were in contact with me not long ago requesting permission to use one of my sunset shots, everything was dealt with in the proper manner so I am quite surprised to see this thread.

Hi all

I am pretty sure they contacted me recently to ask permission to use an image. Nothing of mine there though.

The website does look familiar and remember seeing one of Craig's engine/wing shots.

Cheers

Hi,

They contacted me also for license procedures very nicely.
I gave them my conditions, so they promised to reply soon.
There're still no answer and no photos of mine there.

Cheers,
