I took one look at that shot and went home and immediately trimmed my beard. Damn, I'm ragged looking, but business travels during the week and aviation weekends the last month have kept me out of the barber shop. Now that I think of it, that's not a bad thing.
Kid's day at LGA
turned out to be a salvation for me. Very disappointing morning when Yevgheny and I went to shoot the AN225 at JFK
. They cleared her to land on 31L and we were in position just salivating. Somewhere along the line they switched her to 31R and our shots are worthless because of the haze and heat distortion. So, going to LGA
and running into some old friends and making a few new ones really saved the day for me. And, I must admit, sitting in the MD
-80 and being served a beverage and pretzels was nice, especially nice because I wasn't paying for it this time
Thanks Matt for putting this thread up to let the others know that we in the NY Metro area are a good, fun group and know how to enjoy our sport.
