YWG

Sun Nov 02, 2003 6:56 am

I'll be heading up to YWG next weekend with a couple buddies for some spotting/photography. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good spots. Thanks.

Well Blair Clayton and Matt Lee are the best to ask. I'm out there twice a year, so I'm somewhat framiliar. There is the observation lounge in the main terminal which is decent from spotting. There are alot of places around the fenceline, like Esso, or Air Canada Cargo.

I'm in on this trip too, but will they mind us Yanks there taking pictures?? I am concerned because I don't want to be taking pics at the fenceline and be spending the night in the Canada jail. Should I wear an old Jets jersey??

Hey!
It's good to see some of you guys heading up here to Canada. Security here is about as tight as pamela anderson. So don't worry, I once was framing a photo in my view finder and the security patrol actually stopped to not get in my way! You would have to do something encredibly stupid to get arrested in Canada. I'm only 16 and even I haven't managed that. Like Mark said the observation is a nice warm option. But if you want to get the good shots, with the heat and jetblast in your face, you've got to get out along the fences and approaches. Here are some examples of spots.
Air Canada Cargo (Parking Lot) [Good when 36 or 31 is active]
