Should I Appeal This

Sat Nov 08, 2003 6:06 am

Should I appeal this......

http://airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/CC2.jpg

It was rejected because it was to far in the distance....that was my reasoning for taking the shot was to grab its apearence of lurching in on BFI.

I believe Ive seen other simular images on the DB.

Your opinion is welcomed.

Randy...heres my critical 2 cents...

Cutting off the front of the police car really hurts the shot. I know you want the center of the photo to be Concorde, but the eye is drawn to the half car. The photo is out of balance and does not merit an appeal. Perhaps cropping it vertically and cutting out the car?

Exactly my thought Tony. My first reaction was: "what's that half police car doing there?"

when I first looked at the picture, I could say the same. I also think that Concorde maybe too far out, to be the main focal point of the actual picture. As Tony said, have a go at re-cropping, and then look at the outcome.

Cheers,

The vehicle obviously hurts the picture. I don't think any cropping could really do anything (compromising too much quality). If you would have zoomed in more, it could have been a better picture as no one wants a police car sitting in the foreground. I'd say just forget it.

Now if you'd had the cop sitting there with a speed radar gun, pointed at Concorde, that would have been a great humerous shot.

As portrayed however I have to agree, that cutting off half of the car simply ruins the shot. Did you shoot a sequence? If so, perhaps later frames might be better. Do you have one with the Concorde directly over the cop car?

Thanks all for you honest opinions.

I had another image in the same sequence that has the the whole cop SUV in it and acts I think to balance the image as well as give it a interesting potential storyline. The CCord is also closer in the frame.

I uploaded it for consideration we will see what comes of it.

Thanks again
