Anyone Spotting In Zurich Today?

Sat Nov 15, 2003 3:05 pm

I'll be getting there around 9:20 this morning, so if anyone cares to meet me there, I'll be at the old terrace and heading over to the new terminal if I can later in the morning.

For those of you who don't know me, I'll be the one with blond hair, an old leather jacket, and a grey camera shoulder-bag.

Hope to see some of y'all there. I'm taking off now.

Hi Mike,

I'm still in Stans, but will be heading home tomorrow. I expect I'll be uploading a few, but as there will be plenty of competition from you guys I'll have to be pretty picky  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Unique, I'm sorry I did not get a chance to meet you. I managed to tag along with the AirFotos group for their tour, which was great. Thanks to Mike, Gerardo, and all the guys who allowed a last-minute hitch-hiker.

Cheers,

Charles

Charles, I hope you had a good day at ZRH. BTW, check your mail.

Unique, unfortunately I missed the chance to meet up with you. I was in a hurry. But I saw, that there are new tours planned within the next few weeks. So, chances are fairly high....

Mike: as already said, well done! I enjoyed the tour.

Cheers
Gerardo

Sounds like you had a good time in Zurich. Have you been on one of these tours by AirsideFoto?

I was actually thinking about joining that club before!

But doesn't you have to know a member of the club's board to join? Well, I have met Hansjoerg Buergi only once at an event at the airport, but I don't think that counts...  Big grin

Well, Andy, Charles can be very happy, that you had to go to Stuttgart, as he could take over your place.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I'll contact you next time again.

I was wondering how long of a drive is it from Geneva to Zurich?
Assuming its not rush hour or anything.

Bo,

It's about 280 km, or 175 miles between GVA Airport to ZRH airport, highway the whole way. About 2.5 hours if you go the speed limit. I've done it in 1.5 at night, but they are getting more and more strict about it.

Wow, that is much farther than I thought. Because Swiss is a very small country I assumed that Geneva and Zurich would be like 100 or 150km distance. But then again, the alps are everywhere in that country so any highways trying to get through them would bend here and there like a spaggetti.

Thanks for the info Charles, oh and have you got busted for speeding yet?  Big grin

When I was young and stupid, I did not consider driving at less than 200kmh. Now I'm an old fart - I don't exceed the limits (by too much, anyway).  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
