Britannia Airways Upload Name

Sat Nov 29, 2003 7:58 pm

Given that Britannia has a new branding I was wondering how the airline should be referred to when uploading.

Although regulars will know it is Britannia, by the naming conventions used here, should the airline name now be "Thomson" or "Thomson.co.uk".......what is on the aircraft body, with Operated by Britannia in the comment field?
Or should it be Britannia (Thomson) or Thomson (Britannia) or Thomson (Operated by Britannia) etc?

Help, I'm confused  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Garry

I am sure it should stay as it was and still is 'Britannia Airways' even if like me you feel with each 'Classic' livery repaint into the 'TUI' were loosing the true Britannia

The official name is still Britannia Airways:

The Britannia name will not disappear. The business name will remain and staff will continue to work for Britannia Airways.

Thanks Josh,

I'm sure I remember reading here though that you should put the name on the aircraft as the airline name and the operator as a comment, I stand to be corrected though!

For example Condor who are now Thomas Cook, are listed on the d/b variously as Thomas Cook (Condor), Condor and Condor (Thomas Cook) !!!!

If it wasn't for a miniscule sticker on the front saying operated by Britannia someone not familiar with the situation would never know.

I agree with Derek's sentiments about the whole thing, it's a shame as is this whole trend to diluting the UK charter industry into horrible generic global brands with often gaudy and ugly liveries.

Yeah cast my vote in the direction of wishing they kept the old livery. At least A.net has many great shots preserving how good the old livery is. I love this site!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
