I was thinking of picking this up, as I work in retail, and I get some very nice discounts. I would mostly be taking shots of inside Cessna's (im a student Pilot) and of business jets and other GA aircraft. Most would be on the ground, some would be landing.
I am currently shooting film, although I like film alot, it is just getting a bit to expensive. My digital I have right now, is an Olympus 1.3 Megapixel, that I got in 1999.
The shutter lag on my old camera is crazy, I was looking for something to be at least better or alot better. However, I do not have expectations of getting it as fast as film.
I used to think that you required 1/2000th of a second for planes, but I see that alot of posters go with 1/750th and lower, so I was thinking that I shouldnt have a problem with the 740's 1/1000th shutter.
I was wondering how the shutter lag is on the 740 though. And if anyone has any experience or opinions on it?
I would be able to pick it up for $370. The Fuji Finepix 3.1 megapixel is also an option, and I would get that for $320.
Does anyone know if either of these work on mactinosh computers or just PC?
I am open to recommendations, I would be willing to save for a higher model but this model seems like it would get the job done.
