Justin....

1st suggestion. Don't just upload everything you shoot and hope something gets in. I can't speak for the screeners, but I would guess that they see a huge load like this, every one of which has faults, some easily fixable, and you get a reputation with them for uploading, sorry here, crap.

Several of the shots are off level. Several are of bad angles, have bad lighting, too grainy etc...

I don't want to sound harsh, but why don't you take one or two of the photos, clean them up and then submit them. You already have a few photos posted, so you have an idea what is needed. Why punish yourself? (and the screeners...)

As an example...I spent about 2 1/2 hours at the airport yesterday and shot about 70 photos. Of that I pulled 6 that I liked enough and that would meet anet standards in terms of view etc...I spent a few minutes with each and uploaded 4 because I could not get reg data for 2 of them.) I will bet that all of them will be accepted.

Just my 2 cents. Tony

Justin--

What settings are you using?
What lens are you using?

Just as a thought...try on the TV setting, iso 100, vary your speeds and see what comes out.

But I think your biggest problem is your post processing. I brought the first photo over into Elements and added 3 passes of USM at 50, .3 and 0 and it makes a huge difference.

The potential is there, you just have to pull the best out of the photo.

Hi,

Firstly, the first photo was taken with a 10D which isn't mine.

TV setting ok that's a start for me  Smile, what about exposure?

Settings on my D30:

Auto Settings

ISO 200
AWB, etc
Lens: Canon 75-300mm

I shall try to improve my post processing tonight when I am home from work as the works PC doesn't have PS.... Why not, I do not know!?!?  Sad

I would like to mention I am very new to photography and the only reason I have such camera is because it was my dad's old camera as he passed it on when he got his 10D. I have plenty of time to improve my shooting and so on.

So all the advice on using the D30 for the type of shooting that is being done is very much appreciated  Smile

Also the conditions in some of those shots were not brilliant, on top of a roof in -5 windchill factor with a runny nose Big grin

Anyway any more pointers?

Regards,

this thread has left me scratching my head.

These aren't the best of shots...

So, why would you upload shots that you admit are of poor quality?

I suppose it can be done if I really work on it

You weren't really working on it before? You uploaded 26 shots which were all rejected. Why?

Why would you upload a poor quality shot that you didn't spend any time on?
