Whats With This Picture?

Wed Dec 17, 2003 10:30 pm

Guys, I was wondering how it is that this photo got accepted into the database?

No offence to the photographer, but I was jsut wondering how it is possible that this photo passed the strict screening process?

I have a dozen photos from last year that i took at dusk while departing Adelaide that turned out just like the one above, maybe I should upload all of them seeing as there is a good chance that they'll get accepted.

I really like that photograph, but was wondering the same because you can see that the wing and engine is (very) blurry...

Maybe the screener was drunk while screening Big grin Wink/being sarcastic Innocent Smokin cool

Looks like a similar kind of work to Jeremy Irish who took one of the motion photo on America West B757 (Ohio). Although the exposure time on this photo loos a lot longer.

I posted a similar topic last night but the administration pulled it. I made the comment that "artsy" pics like this have been rejected in the past...thereby discouraging photographers from even submitted them. Then this one gets in. No criticism of the picture, mind you. I love it. I just suspect some sort of double standard.

Re: Views
I think people open them because they are curious as to what it is. I agree with reply 1 as well.

I restarted the thread a second time and it got pulled too. Then this one comes along...

What's up with the moderators? Thread screening standards apparently vary from mod to mod... just like how the 2 pictures appealed to whoever screened them. Wish they'd stick to their norm instead of applying different strokes for different folks.

I think it's nice to have some variation in the pictures, even though on this particular one the wing is a little blurry. Well someone likes it: It's now "top of yesterday"

Long live the A330!
