Photo Help - Badmotiv?

Tue Dec 23, 2003 10:01 am

Hello Everyone,

I got this one rejected and I would just like to know the policy reguarding Jetbridges. I love the shot and I think you would all too because it is so shiney. It was rejected at Badmotiv:

Sam, it was rejected as badmotiv (see thread title).

It could have been a nice shot, but the angle hurts it, the jet bridge kills it.

I really like the quality of the shine, if you could have waited until it backed out, or caught it taxiing in, it would be far better.

not many compliments left for me to give, 'cept wow.

jetbridges are a bitache to deal with, and your best bet--as jeff said--would have been to wait until it backed out.

Futterman - I think you left one out... Holy Freakin Crap!!!

Really nice shine on that airplane, wow, but I think the jetway kinda kills it, but NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!

If it was my shot, (first of all I'd pee my pants) and then I'd reupload it.

From what I can find, I guess it was the newest 763 to be delivered to AA? Looks like they have 2 more to be delivered. AWSOME shot BTW!

Matt,

Id try my best to get a copy to AA.....They could use that shot for a Annual Report to the shareholders.

The shot show a typical shot of OPS in progress.

Great job....

WOW!!! AA777, congratulations on that shot. Full frame 'n Shiny.
Too bad it hasnt yet been accepted. I dont think the jetbridge should have been the deciding factor to reject this photo compared to the other qualities of the shot, which far over weigh the affect of the jetbridge.

Shine is beautiful, just amazing but jetbridge from the front side of the shot is really disturbing. PIAforME, at your example jetbridge does not cover the aircraft that's the difference.

Nice shot Matt.

Policy is as Screeners do. (i.e. it is badmotiv because it was rejected as badmotiv.)

I'd suggest appealing it, or finding another home for it where it will be appreciated.

Amazing shot Matt!

That has to be the cleanest and shiniest commercial airliner I have ever seen!

There is a famous picture of Winston Churchill. He was toying with the photographer and would not cooperate. He sat on a park bench facing squarely away from the photgrapher. The guy went ahead and took the picture from behind, did not show his face at all. Badmotiv for sure! Only it worked. It is one of the great character studies of Churchill. It broke the rules but it worked and that is the most important part.

Yours is a great shot. That is airline ops underway. It is not a portrait of the airplane, it is a little window on flight ops from an angle we normally don't get to see. The plane is beautiful, striking! This, in my opinion, is one where the broken rule makes the picture.

Try rotating it clockwise a bit.

Make the lights on top the brown over-hand completely vertical.

Can you see yourself in the fuselage reflection?

I didn't even notice the jetbridge at first since the I was drawn to the high polish. The bridge does hid more of the B767 than in the B747 a few posts up the thread.

Tough call for the screeners to make. They may have thought it would open the floodgates on jetbridges.
