Spotting Deck At LGW

Tue Feb 03, 2004 8:25 am

I read recently that this has been closed! I would just like to put everyone straight! I was up there today 2nd Feb 2004! And everything was fine up there, it was not shut, no signs saying it was closing, just some spotters with binoculars and a maintenance guy!!!

That is indeed good news. Now we have to find the guy that reported the closing and tar-and-feather him Big grin

Hi all,

I said it was closed because when I was at Gatwick on the 29th January 2004 there was a sign at the bottom of the stairs to the viewing area saying that it was closed.

Rumours are going that it will be closed soon...

Heard this on the LGW yahoo group.

Let's hope they use their brains... Without the view deck, spotting from the terminal will be almost impossible!  Sad

Ben,

Did you by any chance go at the weekend??? I know that they have started to close it on busy weekends sometimes!!! I for one hope that it is not closed! Since i am new to this hobby i want at least a while to shoot from up there!!!

I still think we should tar-and-feather him ..... just for a laugh  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Sorry Ben ....  Wink/being sarcastic but it just has to be done ...

joking aside though it is good news as next time i go to LGW i really must visit that place

Are there any good spots around the airport at Gatwick beside the deck?

Thanks,
