Spotting At IAD

Mon Feb 09, 2004 3:22 am

I have shot some great photos with my 300mm lens in the parking lot at the new air/space museum at IAD. Has anybody experience with parking along the road and getting landing shots of 1R. Is there anyplace I can park along rte 28 and walk in to the museum and shoot from the road w/o a problem

I dunno about that....there used to be a nice area beyond Gate 4 at IAD where you could park on the side and take photographs on landing shots for 1R. Since there was a manned gate, it wasn't a problem before 9/11 but now it is.

What I am saying is if you walk and take shots on the side, im sure with ALL the tourist driving by in slow bumper to bumper traffic, one will likely to call the cops for "suspicious activity" to have to removed. So, that idea is not a wise choice since you will be discovered in public by a snap of the fingers.

The parking lot is a good place but it's rather expensive and you'll only get the boring landing shots with mostly the blue sky.
