But I noticed that this spot is different then the one at Cross Bay Blvd Bridge and Howard Beach spot (the right right next to the threshold of 13R). Also I noticed the subway tracks were running right next to the spot. I was wondering if anyone can kindly draw me a map on where this spot is located and how to get there...

Thanks a lot!

Dennis

Mike's and my shot were taken from Howard Beach on the other side of the subway tracks closer to JFK. Matt's was probably shot at Howard Beach parking lot. If you park by the bridge and walk away from the bridge you'll see a path leading into the brush. Follow it and you'll run into the tracks. There is a fence and it's probably closed and you're not suppose to cross the tracks anyhow. So turn left walk along the water and under the bridge. That's the spot.

But be careful not to go under or past the train bridge. A friend and I encountered three police cars there following the departure of the second to last Air France Concorde.

For info on the spots and lens types needed see my website ...

Follow the links for aviation photography then spotting.

We go past the bridge all the time. To my knowledge it's a public beach and not a problem. You can't, however, cross the tracks as I beleive they are posted. And, we were out there one afternoon, walked to the subway tracks and two police cars were sitting there. We made the left, walked along the water, under the bridge and stayed a few hours with no problems.
