Canon A80

Wed Feb 25, 2004 2:34 am

I'm thinking of getting an A80. Anyone got opinions on that camera? Are any of the new compacts in the A80's price range also worth considering? I want a camera with a good automatic mode that is easy to use and also has the ability to go manual. Picture quality is an important factor.

Do these compacts only take up to 256 MB CF cards?

Thanks,

Thanks! It has had some good reviews, but is there anything better for the money?

How about this one:

Much better optics, comparable to 38-380mm, with Image Stabilizing IS!

Harm

Edit. Never mind, just noticed it's $130 more expensive . . .

B&H has the Canon S50 for $399 ... check a review of that. I use it and love it.

How about a Canon 300D? Big grin

In this league I'm a Nikon man, I use this one:

but I'm afraid it's no good for you because doesn't have manual settings. I use it everywhere, this was last night Big grin
