This is the seat most of us use on a flight. Now with a window... Fantastic !!

I had a lav shot rejected for badmotiv a while back. Strange thing was it was an historic aircraft so there was definitely something noteworthy about it.

Oh well. Sh!t happens.

Hello guys,

That's actually a nice lavatory! You should have a look at the Ruslan's dunny.  Big thumbs up

But seriously, I think the pic should have its place in the db as it shows a remarkable feature (lavatory with window) of a fairly new aircraft (still newsworthy).

We'd have to see YOUR shot in order to tell what was wrong with it.

Hey Phil ...

"You talkin' to ME?"

Here you go. A sparkling clean Strato-potty:

I'd feel terrible using it. So pretty.

i took a photo of the electronics bay of a BAe-146 and it got badmotiv, i would have thought a photo of an essential part of the plane would be more noteworthy than a photo of a toilet...

There is no part on an aircraft MORE important than the toilet.

Ask anyone on a flight longer than 25 min...

Exitrow, LOL on your shot  Smile

Oh, for some of you, lavatory onboard is not part of airplane??? not aviation related but it surely is taken inside an airplane cabin just like cockpit or seats???  Acting devilish

I just thought the lavatory with a view on the brand new A340-500 is something nice for a change!

I am simply enjoying that shot! Wait for more part to come on the A340-500  Smile

To some people, airplanes taking off and landing is aviation photography.

To others, it's cabin shots.

And to yet others, flight decks are their cup of tea. I'd never scold anyone for shooting whatever they find interesting about aircraft.

Me? I am all about toilets. And until Johan or Henrik start Loos.net, I'll upload as many toilet shots as humanly possible from now on.

rejected as bad while toilets are good then say that somethings wrong is happening here.

Jeff...

That color IS correct. It REALLY was pink in there. I am not kidding. (It was badmotiv anyway.)

Sorry but when I see shots like this... rejected as bad while toilets are good then say that somethings wrong is happening here.

No disagreement on that point. Better to bring it up with the screeners though. Us honeybucket-shooters have no control over the screening process.

Well Danny...you can ask the screener....I uploaded with minimal hope that shot will be accepted....yet I got it after it sat in the queue struggle for a while....I guess I just got lucky and I am surprised too...nothing more than luck to be honest. There is NO shame for me to upload a toilet shot at all. I am loving it! Sure there is people appreciate a brane new aircraft cabin A340-500 with toilet included. I've seen many likewise shot here before, do a search yourself to see....Have a nice day.  Smile

I have no idea about Grant's shot....I am not a screener here.

Yes, I can remember similar shots added previously; Sam's right.

The Strat ought to have made the cut (and possibly the Ruslan as well)....

For that Air Canada shot, change the White Balance shot to like it more white. Maybe the screeners like it more.

Lyzzard,

I assume yours were rejected for badmotiv? Because I think it is a perfect shot and taken with much light from outside using no flash...

If so, I do not understand why yours weren't accepted while Sam's is now. I hope it is not because Sam is a more 'famous' photographer?  Confused

I know another friend's rather similar pic very close to Lyzzard's with daytime light was also rejected for badmotiv...  Sad

Yea, it's a little soft at the door area and the bottom of the potty. Maybe I should've USMed the heck out of it and see if that would've worked. What do you think JeffM?

I'm not sure usm will save those parts. It looks like the photo was taken with too shallow a depth of field. But, it never hurts to try.

AirlinerToilets.net!

Sat Feb 28, 2004 9:38 pm

Hi Folks,

I was coing to start a separate topic, but I see that Markus has beat me to it, anyway my thoughts are listed below.

Sorry to say this but Airliners.net has now become ridiculous. Top photo of last day being an airliner toilet!! With all due respect to Sam, who is a great bloke and ace photographer, this type of photo is now seems to be becoming the accepted standard of regular uploads. Personally, I like to see the odd aircraft exterior from time to time, and use Airliners.net as a source of reference for airline colour schemes and the like.

In addition, I can only have sympathy for all my fellow photographers, who spend hours standing in the freezing cold at their local airports, waiting for that perfect shot, only to have it rejected from the database, on account of someone elses preference for airliner interiors.

Please accept this remark as constructive criticism, as this is how it is intended, although I do feel that the site has gone a bit barmy with many of it's recent acceptances. I'm all for a variety of content, and there are some stunning photos contained within these pages, but I'm afraid that aircraft interiors do not do anything for me, and I would be interested to hear anyone else's comments.

Incidentally, like many others, I clicked on the link to the lavatory photo with a degree of curiosity as to why it had so many hits, and thus contributed to it's popularity. Needless to say, I'm still none the wiser.

(No offence intended Sam, keep up the good work, but more of your stunning action shots please (Lavatory action excluded!!!)

I guess there is a 'market' for interior shots on A.net, as they seem to be very popular.
Speaking for myself, in the past 8 years I've been browsing through A.net, the amount of interior shots I opened to see the large version can be counted on one hand. Backs of peoples heads and IFE screens are not of my interest, but it seems others like them... So if people want to upload them, they should be able to... I will just scroll past them...
To each his own...
Cheers,
E

why on earth looking at a toilet could interest anyone out there is totally beyond me.

I shall stick to photographing aircraft and aircraft only, I can understand the odd cockpit shot, struggle with seats mind you but a line needs to be drawn at the Kharzy!

come on.........very bad motiv!!!.......but hey Sam , you seem happy enough with it and thats what counts!
