C-740 Settings Suggestions....

Fri Mar 12, 2004 4:11 pm

I recently bought a C-740, and I need suggestions on general settings for the camera, please.  Big grin I'm still a little unfamiliar with it.

Use S mode and put the shutter as high as possible (keep it in the green though) Put it on SHQ pictures and auto WB. Also, If you prefer more automatic stuff, just turn on Sports mode!

Adel

All of my shots on a.net are with the C-740UZ. I have had sometimes good and sometimes so-so results with the camera. I agree with MartinairYYZ about the settings, same as what I use now but here are a couple more tips.
Sometimes if an aircraft is stationary and I have time to adjust the settings sometimes I shoot at different shutter speeds and the ones in the red give me better results in bright sunlight. For example shooting at the highest speed possible the highest speed in the green is 1/650 but the results are sometimes better at 1/800 or even 1/1000. I don't think the meters are completely accurate. Also because of the low megapixil count (3.2) try and get is much of the aircraft in the frame as possible, so that minimal cropping is necessary.
And finally for non aircraft photography I have had pretty good luck with the landscape mode. I hope this helps a little, good luck and plan on lots of experimenting to get it right.

Hey,

The suggestions given in this thread sounds good, although I always use the Auto-mode, with IMO good results in both low-light and bright conditions.
