Sometimes I don`t understand the sight of the screeners!!!

How many pictures are inside the DB from a open Engine????I know hundreds!!

Takes my nerves and motivation to upload more pictures!!!Definitely!!!

If you are not happy with a rejection...appeal.

Most of the engines on this site are still mounted on the aircraft.

If you provided information about the engine instead of just a question it might have a better chance. What is the significance of an engine that no one knows anything about?

Martin,

Calm down and let's think about this. Big grin

You're showing a bare engine (V2500 if I'm not mistaken) with a workbench in front with various pipes on and the workshop in the background. What are you trying to show? i.e. what is the motivation behind the shot?

Is it the fact that it's a bare engine? Interesting enough to me (Engine designer) but probably not to most folks. I think the point is folks come here to see the whole package. If you'd had the engine still on the pylon with the aircraft visible then maybe the screeners might have accepted it.

Apart from that I think it might have gotten rejected for Badscan as well.

I hope this helps!

Cheers!

I think it's a good picture, but I guess it's not for everyone.

Quick question actually. Is there a cover for all those rigid pipes, electronic boxes, and hoses, or does the bypass air just travel over them?

I've never seen a picture of an engine other than completely 'naked' like this one, or hanging on the wing with the nacelle and cowling.
It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.

The problem is no plane is visible at all, nor is it attached to a plane. I think that is a very clear line of acceptance that is in place, and a good one. Way too much of a slippery slope otherwise.

However, I have wondered if a new category such as "Technical Photos" would be useful. It would contain photos such as this perhaps, and other photos that detail various parts of the aircraft, up close.

There is a completely smooth and aerodynamic bypass duct for the fan air to go through Sulman.

Cheers!

O.k. It's an engine. Not as interesting as you may think. I agree, put some text in the box to tell us something....

Ok, it's the hot core of an engine with fan assembly and internal shroud attached. But beyond that, it doesn't give me any INFORMATION. Perhaps you should submit it to www.aircraftparts.com Big grin

But seriously, I think Bronko's suggestion of a Technical Photos category is quite a valid suggestion and bears serious consideration.
The problem I see however in a Technical Photos category is where do you draw the line. If it's the full engine as shown here, well ok, but what happens when I show a photo of a "black box" say like a FADEC box (Full Authority Digital Engine Controls) or say a flap retract proximity switch sensor? Where do we draw the line. When someone sends in a macro shot of a single cold set rivet? Bears thinking about.
