Nikon N55, Metal Or Plastic Lens Mount?

Wed Mar 17, 2004 8:48 pm

Hi!

Anybody knows wheter the lens mount of this model is made of metal or plastic?

If it was a plastic lens mount, Should i worry about it? I have 2 lenses, a 28-80 and a 70-300, which are not very heavy. Thank You!

The lens mount on the N55 is polycarbonate rather than metal.

I shouldn't worry about it if you switch your lens only occasionally.

The two lenses you mentioned are light enough that you don't have to lose sleep over whether the mount will hold or not. Now if that was a 300 f2.8, that would be a problem indeed!!
