Badmotiv Why?

Sat Mar 27, 2004 9:22 pm

Hello everybody,

Yesterday I was in BRU for the EU meeting and managed to take a few shots of the BA G-YMMP carrying British Prime minister.

I took this shot and uploaded it as I've seen some similar angles shots by other photogs on the DB.

But mine was rejected so why?

Thanx for your help.

Hi FL350,

Being a screener I can say that these shots are always difficult to screen.
Why?
Generally speaking they are considered borderline for motivational reasons. On very rare occasions, we see it fit to accept one or two.

This is on the very simplfied criterion:
* Quality
* Registration commonality/rareness
* Information
* Age
* Motivation

In my opinion, I would have followed the standard screening procedure and rejected your shot for bad motiv.

You shot may have been accepted if a couple of the following were true:
(Examples below to show you what we would consider to accept your shot)

* Quality was increased - i.e. sharper
* Wasn't cropped so much
* Showed far more crew waving
* Special markings on aircraft
* Rare/Old/Crashed aircraft
* Accident/Incident

Regards

Glenn Stewart

Tony Blair should have been the captain as well... or at least the guy sitting behind  Big grin

No, I think the photo is a bit too dark and has a lack of contrast. Sunshine would have helped much...

Cheers

Is his maybe the hand that's waving from behind the captain? (It's kind of difficult to see)
