Rejection Schmejection

Wed Apr 07, 2004 3:22 am

In light of the recent post ranting on about frivolous uploads, and the such, I do feel a bit guilty.

A bit.  Wink/being sarcastic

Anywho, BadPeople for both. The first one, well, fine, my dad is kind of right up and taking up a lot of the frame. The second one though...

I like the second one, gives you an idea of how big the plane is. As well as getting in the tail..  Big thumbs up

They were both clearly rejected for BadFutt. Big grin

The first one, as you said, is a no-brainer...

The second one...well, I like it, but I can see why it would have been rejected too. You should know better than to try to upload something a little out of the "ordinary" to this site. Big grin

OK, so screw the first one.

For the tail/dad comparison, though, do you think It's worth an appeal? It was rejected (this time) only for BadPeople, but I have permission (duh) and my dad isn't obstructing any part of the plane...

Why does he look like he's trying to flex? That's my job. lol

I jsut don't think any of those shots are visually pleasing. There's no artistic or aesthetically pleasing qualities to it.

BadBuckFutt for sure.  Big grin

Futt -

I think the second shot is not worth appealing. It's the kind of thing you can stick in a photo album and look back on in twenty years with your dad and say "Hey...Remember when we went to LGA and you stood under the Stupid-80?" However, I agree with Phil that it's probably not the kind of thing a.net will accept. But the appeal function exists for a reason, so use it if you want to. Who cares what other people think, anyways, right?

Or go to the competition if you really are gung-ho about displaying the photo...  Smile

Yes I agree, motive doesn't work.. Plus you cut off the vertical stabilizer.

I think the motivation is there 110% in the comparision shot. I know I never thought an MD80 was this big...it puts everything in perspective (blah blah).

And, EDDG...I KNOW the vertical stabilizer is cut off.  Laugh out loud

"I think the motivation is there 110% in the comparision shot. "

Then appeal the rejection!

Once again, IN YOUR OPINION. Obviously, if you uploaded the shot you think it has some merit and that it should be accepted. However, these are the reasons why these shots got rejected, and if you keep uploading them you will keep getting rejections. The screeners obviously disagree and have thus rejected it. Johans site, not yours.

I, like many other people I'm sure, upload two kinds of photos. Those we are adament about, and feel deserve to be on the site, and those petty side-ons that if they're rejected, "oh well."

This is one of the former. It's out of the norm, and unfortunately, like Jakbar said, I "should know better than to try to upload something a little out of the "ordinary" to this site." Putting a person in the frame adds another element to the photo, something you can compare it to. Size...this perfectly displays it.

I appealed, and we shall see what happens. If it's BadPeople, tough...I can't fix it. BadMotive, maybe I can do something.

Johans site, not yours.

And it's my photo. I'll fight for an acceptance until I feel it's not worth it anymore.

Yes its your photo,

But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether you think its motive enough, or whether having someone in the frame adds another element to the photo, a comparison.

To me, as an unbiased viewer of the site, it means nothing to me. I wouldn't open the photo as there is nothing to bring to my attention in the photo. There are hundreds of photos on the site that offer a size comparison, without being an unmotivated closeup with the vertical stabilizer being chopped off ( Big grin), and thats most likely why it got rejected. As it doesn't show the whole of the aircraft, and there was no real motivation for the tail closeup, I don't think you'll have much luck with the appeal.

However, i'm sure Johan or the screener may now add the photo just to spite me  Big grin

I think it looks good with the comparison. Futt, if you want this in the db, appeal. But don't make it hell on the screaners to have to open up that image every day when you go to re-upload.

Getting your point across is one thing, but don't tire it out.

EGGD: OK, you got me. You put up quite an argument, and I like that. You may become a respected user... Wink/being sarcastic On another note, it was not made clear to me that it was rejected for the cut off control surface, as BadPeople does not encompass aircraft parts (directly). Although I do agree that Johan will reject it for the 'chop' rather than my dad, if at all.

DLKAPA: Thanks. I appealed, but I don't intend on reuploading it unless I can make some sort of dramatic improvement. I'm going on and on and on about it in this thread, and I'm not going to take it out on the upload queue. But, I'm a firm believer that if I don't agree with the specified rejection reason (in this case, BadPeople, NOT BadMotive for the horizontal stabilizer), I'll appeal or make a thread about it. And here I am.

However, i'm sure Johan or the screener may now add the photo just to spite me  Big grin
I've probably given him a few ideas as well...

Go3Team: The link changed because It's now in the appeal queue. It can now be found here: http://airliners.net/procphotos/rejphoto.main?filename=APPEAL_P9200049_filtered_baf.jpg&appealed=yes.

Vitaly: That prettymuch defeats the whole purpose. I was thinking about something more along the lines of cloning something INTO the shot, but you didn't hear that from me.  Acting devilish

DLKAPA: Absolutely. You can take it from another photo, or even another part of the same photo. Just set the target where you want it (again, either the same or a different photo), and clone away! Easy as pie. PIE I CAN'T HAVE DURING PASSOVER!  Angry lol

Futterman,

I honestly don't think that it's exactly airliners.net material. It's not a BAD shot, but it's just not a.net material. I KNOW you can do better.  Big grin. Message me privately if you want to discuss it. Get my sn from Vafi88  Big grin
