Request Feedback Concerning "badmotive" Rejection

Sun Apr 11, 2004 8:28 pm

Dear Members,

I recently submitted some pictures to including the following:

It was rejected as "bad motive". I´d like to ask you for some feedback what could be responsible for the "badmotive" since I´m eager to improve my skills with every picture I submit.
I have an idea what could be wrong, but I´d like to hear others opinions, maybe some screeners can give me a hint too.

thank you in advance

It apears to me as if it is a bit unsharp. Maybe badsharp would have been a better comment.. I could be wrong.

My guess would be some of the distracting ground objects in the shot. There are lots of vans, baggage trucks, a fuelling vehicle, and the top of a lamp post in the shot. It makes it looks cluttered and, from what I've seen, tend not to go for ground shots with lots of "ramp lice" in them. It's not a slur on the quality of your photo.

I may well be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me.

Michael is correct. There's just too much equip in the way, cars/highloaders/stairs. Nothing you can do about this one.

Uploading in 1024* might be a good idea as well for future uploads. Quality is not that bad on this one, but I could see how it might be rejected for badscan/soft.

You have the right attitude by asking for honest advice on how to improve. Unfortunately this shot cannot be improved as to be accepted on here. Keep shooting though. has a steep learning curve but be patient and keep improving your work, in the end it's very much worth the effort as anyone on here will tell you.

thank you so far. basicly it was my intention to capture the "surrounding equipment" too - like cars, ramps, etc...

//edit: special thx to the screener for feedback, i´ll keep it in mind.
