Help With This Photo Please

this was rejected for being soft, any ideas where it needs a sharpening?

I think much of the background is blurred, and not in a good way.

BAckgrounds either need sto be sharp, intentionally out of focus or show motion blur, adn this is just too in-between for that.

That might not be what was wrong, but that's how I see it.

Quantas I can see what Phil is saying. The picture has a debth of field that makes the whole pic look out of focus...The aircraft is in focus but just in front and behind is slightly out.

i guess i should say that there was some fog lying around also this morning, this have anything to do with the problem?

I don't see any reason for rejection really. The aircraft is sharper than sharp, I guess the standards are just too good now...

Great shot mate!
I see you are putting my old Bigma to great use.
What sort of focal length where you using for that shot?
Lovely photo and i have no idea why or how you could reject that photo as the aircraft is tac sharp.
Hope to see some more of your trip shots elsewhere!!

hi darren,
yeah that was probably about 160mm, not alot of distance between the deck and the rotation point so its a pretty easy shot.

got the first batch from JFK, Zrh, Fra, Nrt and HK up, gotta add something from haneda also.
