The remark says "Something unusual can be seen". What is unusual? I just don't see it.

It's still there. I searched for Air New Zealand and it was the second shot that came up. I don't see anything unusual.

My guess:

maybe something looks unusual with the B747 in the back... you can only see the left vertical stabilizer....

The text under the Qantas title says "The Australian Airline". Doesn't it usually say "The Spirit of Australia"?

I could guess it has something to do with the airport? Maybe it's an Air New Zealand only terminal with a Qantas a/c? I don't know AKL.

Very true!!! That maybe the one...

Didn't they changed that "claim" in mid/late 90's??? but few are still flying with the old paint?

"The Australian Airline" is the old slogan of Qantas, and the new "The Spirit Of Australia" titles may have not been painted to all of the Qantas fleet, so I don't think it is that unusual..

I only notice 2 things weird....

1. One guy wearing shorts the other a coat... (As mentioned above)
2. The runway in the backround is closed. (Notice the yellow X)

Not on VH-OGN (pictured), VH-OGO, VH-OGP, VH-OGQ, VH-OGR, VH-OGT and VH-OJR! So as Hoons says it's not unusual! They are gradually being repainted.

Hoons90,

Slight Adjustments....

The Qantas tag line was always "The Spirit Of Australia'

When it Acquired Australian Airlines in the 90's it changed to "The Australian Airline" and then QF was privatised by the government, they hoped that the slogan "The Australian Airline" would prove that even though QF was privatised it was to remain an Australian Airline.

Then all aircraft in the late 90's early 2000's the aircraft appeard to have "The Spirit of Australia"

Now QF has changed it to make if more simpler "Spirit of Australia" as depicted below...

Is it the placement of the blanked out window in the forward cabin on the 767? Compared with that on other Quantas 338's that I looked at in the database this one appears to have the 12th row blanked.

My guess : on the Quantas 767 the legend Boeing 767 is written at the middle of the fuselage. Usually they put it in the back or the front of the plane.

Taking my "why am I really doing this?" stab at it, could it be the two swishes on top of the ANZ planes being different colors? Really grasping at straws with it, but I had nothing else to add besides what's listed above...

Sigh

Guys.... you just got the point in the last few replies....

If you comment an image with... "note the unusual thing going on there"
, lots of people will open it in LARGE, to see what's so unusual....

And the technique is working perfectly, as this topic shows  Smile
Cheap hits for this guy!

Another low trick to make people open the large version and give hits to this fellow, like some other very well known photographers and their cabin shots and close up cockpits shots with nothing interesting but just irrelevant comments, bah!

Nah He didn't shave, wore his cool sunglasses, his weddingring, forgot to put on his tie, dyed his hair blonde, and was reading the newspaper while drinking a cup of coffee while thinking about the hot flight attendant, who is visible trough window 24, just in front of row 25 where a passenger is mooning us Smile

My guess would be that the Qantas a/c doesn't have a registration number (or maybe it's on top of or below the horizontal stabilizer... Although you would usually see it somewhere near the flag.

The first thing I saw was this, an A320 with 2 cargo doors aft of the wing? I have worked 50 or more UAL A320's and have never seen a 2 rear cargo doors. It is early in Colorado so maybe I am out of it, help me please.

I find it unusual that Auckland International Airport & the Royal Bank of Scotland have almost the same logos.

Maybe less of a coincidence than you think Thomas. When I used to work for them, I know they had a financing deal at Sydney's Kingsford; it's possible they've done something similar at Auckland.
It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.

I think the only ususual thing in the photo might be, as Usair330 said, that the runway in the background is closed. If that's not it, the photographer just made the comment to gather hits.

I noticed this recently when browsing the database. Seems like people are increasingly describing things in the caption that are actually not there. Or am I just too stupid to figure it out ...  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
