Filmscanner

Sun May 09, 2004 12:01 am

Hi there,

since I was a little kid, I've taken many pictures of planes and I have a very big archive (including my fathers pictures). Now, I sometimes have the need to have these pictures om my computer, so I'm looking for a not to expensive 35mm filmscanner. I don't want to spend to much on it, as I now take pictures with a digicam and not on film anymore.

But I do want a scanner which is capable of getting some of my old ISO100 and rare pics on A.net, after being worked on in Paintshop Pro ofcourse.

Thanks for any info you can give me!

Cheers!

You should be abel to get a second hand Nikon Coolscan IV for about USD 250 on E-bay or where ever.
All my pictures on A.net have been scanned with it (check the link in my profile) It is as good as it gets for the price.

I've got a HP Photosmart S10 scanner that I bought recently for a steal (double digits)... you get what you pay for. It takes a lot of work to get good output from it, but in my case, I had more time than money. Noise is pretty high but managable, dust is a horrible horrible problem, but it's quick and easy to use. For around $100, you can get a S20 on Ebay which is an updated version and seems to be a pretty good overall scanner... not a bad family of scanners.
