Which European Airport Is The ........

Thu May 27, 2004 6:06 am

Hey all,

What European Airport do you think is the hardest to seek new angles from?

I think that most of the spots at the main airports have been sussed out, but people are always finding new and more imaginative places to photograph aircraft.

I believe LHR has to be up near the top - although, there are a lot of angles around LHR that haven't been tested.

LGW and STN also have to be quiet near the top too!

What do you all think?

Didn't see "european" at first, in which case my vote goes to LHR.

LHR certainly. STN only because there are so few places! Maybe MAN, but there are plenty of areas at MAN anyway so it isn't quite like Myrtle Avenue  Laugh out loud

Yup, I would agree with F R A :P
And after this summer even less, since the visitors terrace will most likely be closed then :-(

I would guess Athens this summer during the Olympics.

Will anyone be allowed anywhere near the place unless they've got a ticket to fly??

Maybe MAN
Or maybe not. Big grin Never been there, but there are plenty of cool angles.

Having just got back from CGN I would go for there. If they are taking off to the north your completely screwed as we were!
Surrounded by trees and with signs up around the woods telling you not to go off the footpath as its a historical land mine area or something similar, I'd say it was pretty impossible!

DUB, two spots at each end of 10/28 and that's about it.

Hi all,

The toughest place to shoot good aircraft photos from is Paphos (PFO) belive me when I saw it is nigh on impossible. PFO makes STN look easy!

LGW is OK for spots, just need to know where to find them

Hi all

Take REAL care at Athens.

A member of a local group/list that I am a member of has had problems taking photographs there. Questioned by the police for 4 hours.

Cheers

Too right Gary. The fate of those photographers shooting at the military field was worrying enough. I think it's definitely wise to ask the Police first, even if they say no.
It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.

Simon - what angles at LHR do you mean for example? I believe that all angles with the sun behind your back and no fence in the way have been found. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

And I know exactly where you get those shots from now! I shall (bla bla) be trying it out at the weekend!  Big grin
