The Numbers Game

Sat Jun 12, 2004 6:03 am

I was jsut looking at all my pics on my computer. Realized some stuff that was interesting to me, and I was wondering how common this was.

I've had my camera for 2 and a half months. (March 28)

On June 6th, I took 1,012 aviation photos alone. After going through them, I only felt that 15 were worth even editing (mostly due to bad weather), 14 of them are going/will go to Anet.

Since I got my camera, I've taken about 6,100 pictures, 3,629 of them are aviation related, and of that, I've only edited 184, and of that, I felt that only 97 were Anet worthy (adding what is in the d/b so far with my new camera, what's in the queue and what's yet to be uploaded, excluding about 19 un-reuploaded rejections).

To answer questions that may arise. I have two 1 gig cards and shoot High Qual Jpeg, and I will sometimes takes about 5-10 shots per aircraft movement.

Do you folks keep track of this stuff? What are your numbers?

Whoa Phil!!! 6000+ in just over 2 months? I had about 8000 shutter releases on the 10D in a whole year! (looking at the filenames)  Smile Most of the pictures were deleted on the spot actually... I have no idea how many shots I actually saved over the last year, but it's about 10Gb (RAW and jpg's mixed).
+/-300 shots ended up on A.net.
That's all the numbers I know... Big grin
cheers,
Eduard

Got my D30 in Dec 2003.

The rest can be seen here:

Out of those 11,000 images I would say 85% are aviation shots.

I have 227 on A.net  Smile An interesting topic!

Regards,

Justin  Big thumbs up

Out of 2000 pictures I'd say around 600-700 are aviation related and the rest... other stuff.

Saved around 400 pictures, looked and edited around 80 pictures. Uploaded a little over 20 I think and 14 accepted at the moment. Some closer looks, more editing and self-screening among the selected pics, and hopefully more will be seen on a.net over time...

9295 shutter releases in one year. I would say about 8,000 of those are aviation related. I have 178 photos on a.net.

That means for every 45 shutter releases, I upload one shot!

Hisham.
