Window Reflection

Sun Jul 04, 2004 10:00 am

On a recent trip I took this photo:

http://img46.photobucket.com/albums/v140/Qpics/Qantas_737_Wingview_Uluru_resized.jpg

Unfortunately, I caught some reflection off the window (you can see some behind the wing and some in front of the winglet). I have a few questions...

First of all: does the fact that there's reflection automatically make it badmotiv, or can it still be accepted since it's a fairly unusual shot?

Second: is it "against the rules" to remove the little bits of reflection manually in photoshop?

Thanks in advance,

The pic is fine, and the reflection is barely noticable. You should have cropped it out and kept your yap shut about it man!

That's a killer shot. So go crop it and Act like you never made this post.  Big grin

Phil, please explain to me how I can crop it out and still end up with a rectangular photo...  Confused  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Well, I guess I'll upload it as it is then. Thanks guys!

The reflections are only very small, I think they'll add it!

Nice shot btw!

Well it appears that it was rejected for badquality. Sad I assume this doesn't have to do with the reflection, does it? Can I still salvage the photo? Is it worth appealing?

Here's the version that I uploaded (sorry, link won't work):

The rejected one is a bit oversharpenned, and a bit jagged IMO, so I think it is the rejction reason. Try to rework it, it is really a nice picture.

As for the widonw reflections, they are indeed barely noticeable. I would advice you to clone them out (not 'crop' them out as suggested above) it might demand some work, but it is feasible.

As for the rules, I don't think it is against the rules to clone out that kind of window reflection which imo do the same damage to a pic as a dust spot on a CMOS does.

Take a very small clone tool, take your time, you should get a greater picture from that.

Cheers,
