Photo Sale, How Much To Ask?

Wed Jul 14, 2004 1:48 am

Hey all,

Yesterday I got an e-mail from a company that wants to buy one of my pics:

We are interested in using one of your photos for a direct mail campaign. The piece is actually a hand-out at a tradeshow, approx. 2,000 quantity. The size of the piece is 6 x 11”. Please contact me so we can discuss cost and/or photo credit.

I really have no idea how much to ask since I've never sold a picture before.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Check, money order, wire transfer. Some companies will ask you for an invoice. Easy to make up using the templates in Word. (they need it for bookkeeping purposes...)
