I think I have kind of met my limitations with my current camera, the Sony F717. I think the next step is into DSLR technology. I have a few friends with camera's such as the Cannon 10D, 300D, D30, and Nikon D70. All are great camera's, but what do I want/need. As far as price, I really don't want to jump into a 10D right now cause I think I will suffer with the financial impact. I really want to spend the money on a lense. I think the Cannon 70-200 L IS
2.8 with a 1.4x and 2.0x converter is my choice and as we all know, its pretty expensive for the set.
I guess the question is, is it worth getting a used D30 or D60 and hooking up the fancy lense to that for the time being and then when there are more funds to spend, get a 10D or even 1D? I am just nervous about getting a used camera that may be in good condition? From my research I think the D60 may be a better camera than the 300D from a technical stand point, and I think the price is about the same.
Thanks in advance for the help
