Cellphone Screensaver Copyright Violations?

Mon Aug 23, 2004 12:52 pm

Hi all,
A very intriguing (and easy to violate) copyright infringement is the relatively new cellphone screensaver business. "Google" the words "cell phone ringtones and screensaver" and then maybe add airplane and one can see some possible violations. I found one of mine at planetringtone.net (under misc photos) but could not confirm if other pics on many other sites I searched came from a.net.....
Cheers

Not sure about any of these, but it might not be a bad idea to have a look:

And if you really wanna sift through a whole lot of pics to see if there is any aviation pics:

And all at once the crowd begins to sing: Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same

They can't even spell Angels correctly. They have the world famous BLUE ANGLES listed instead.

That link to phoneimage.com was not correct any more as they rotate the photos.
Here is the direct link to my shot on phoneimage.com

if you look at the clouds in the background you'll see that they have an other position on the sky (on the screensaver image).

it seems to be the same day and around the same time, but maybe there was another photographer near you?

or maybe my eyes are out of focus  Wink/being sarcastic

Planetsurf,

No your eyes are working perfectly!
It's actually Jan Mogren's shot that's used.

We were the only ones out there shooting.
So, that makes Jan the lucky one...

Ok brother....take the ball, chase 'em bas****s!

Also used - seen on page number 6 - the famous Ryanair shot with Santa sticking on the nose. Did a search through the db but couldn't find the image.
Can anyone find it so we can tell the photographer?

This is a fast growing, explosive and huge business which is driven mostly by the stealing of all kinds of photos and images. They say it is a community website. So, they say, what happens is that a member uploads a photo and that is how a photo gets there. 90% of the companies do not care and will probably be shut down soon (after they make their million$) 10% do care and you can then bargain with them. IT IS NICE how all of us look out for eachother's pics!!!!!
