Can I Get The Canon EOS30V In Canada?

Thu Sep 02, 2004 9:29 am

I am looking into buying http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_finder/cameras/slr/eos_30v_date/index.asp for myself and am wondering if is is available in Canada. If not, where is the cheapest place in the U.K to buy it from?

Thanks Alot.

P.S. Can anyone recommend a good Negative and Slide scanner with A.net quality?

Hey Martin,

Have a look on Ebay U.K. or find a UK Camera shop that ships to Canada.

Slide scanners are expensive and you usually cannot get that good of a quality with flatbed scanner that scan printed photos. Like I told you earlier, I would look for a Canon D30 or D60 which is digital and can use Canon uses.

Jag,

I have been looking for a D30 or D60 for the entire summer and really came up empty handed, and by the time I got the camera I would be better off getting a new 300D from a store with support from that particular store! Especially if you don't get a lense....and they you have to trust the condition....

If there was a D30 for lets say $500 canadian then i would own one right now, but most are up around $800 or so.... and with the 300D out of a Box with twice the MP's..... tuff choice....

Luckly I have a very nice friend who will let me purchase his DSLR from him....

Ah, got it.... the North-American name is the ELAN 7.

Grant, why don't you get the D60? Had 6.3MP and you can get one off ebay for about $1100 including lens... Has more feature than the 300D too!

Grant, there was a guy who uses the D60, his name is Binky Jabier. He doesnt shoot so much anymore. If you look up his photos you can see the results. They are very nice. Im looking into the D60 as my next camera as my F707 is not giving me the best results and the zoom lacks a lot.

Martin,

I can get the same deal on a 10D with a kick a$$ lense, well good enough to start out, and an instructor included....not just a instruction booklet. The deal should take place by the fall and I am looking for some appropriate lenses for aviation photography.

Jag,

I am sure that there are going to be some 10D on the market like the D60 is or the maybe D60 owners will make the switch to the 20D.... I guess you just have to find a camera that serves your needs. I don't exactly need a 10D but I feel that I will have a camera like the 10D for a long time, its a worthy investment at more than fair price
