Slightly Oversized Pix, Will They Be Rejected?

Sat Sep 25, 2004 11:11 am

Hi, as you all know, a.net requires photos of 1024x768 pixels or bigger. What happens if you picture is slightly smaller, e.g. 1024 x 683? Would that automatically cause the picture to be rejected?

Sometimes after cropping the image, I am unable to get the size to be exactly 1024x768 in photoshop. I will save something like 1200x800. Will this be too big and be rejected?

When you use the square thingy to crop the photo, there is a setting where you can specify a 4 to 3 ratio. When you go to resize, all you have to do is put 1024 in the resize box, and if you have the correct setting, the height of the photo will automatically become 768. Anywhere close should be ok. I sometimes do a 3 to 2 ratio, to keep them closer to regular 35mm prints.

What camera are you using? When I resize my uncropped pictures, I get 1024x683. I would think that anything around 683 is acceptable. I think the main point is that it should look somewhat proportional! If it just looks wrong, you probably cropped it wrong. Good luck!

I guess that's what happens in the end, you start thinking about the beginning.
