Anyone Use A Camcorder As Well As Digital Camera?

Tue Sep 28, 2004 12:51 am

As it says. Lots of people take still photos here. Anyone take "moving pictures" as well? Or is that heresy????

BigphilNYC is quite a good moviemaker, from what I've heard.

I've thought about it before. Next time there is some decent weather at BFI, and something interesting is moving, I will bring my camcorder. Maybe some people would like to see the RyanAir Dreamliner scheme in video? Definately will take some movies of the 777-200LR prototype, 747 Super Freighter, and eventually the 7E7.

The problem is where to host the movies so others can enjoy them.

Yes! I do and have quite a few to edit and upload to a site real soon. Only problen I have is I use FCP (Final Cut Pro) on a Mac so have to host them on a site that has Quicktime facilities. I will probable get a .mac account in the near future so that I can host them there unless anyone has other suggestions?

Cheers,
Colin

Yes, I am actively taking video footage with a Canon camcorder !!

Video capture all the sound and motion, sometimes it beat my photos. It make a dull day at the airport spent easier.  Smile

Kereru, the site listed above handles .mov files. If another filetype is needed feel free to let me know, so I can add it.

I've just bought a Canon MV700, mostly to capture golden moments with the soon to be 2 kids, but I expect it may find itself recording planes come and go at MAN.

This is my 18month old son on his 1st visit to MAN and being faced with a rather noisy PIA B747-300. Start them young!!

Incidentally, this is the "hill" on the south side of MAN that's been under discussion recently as being a terrorist threat ("Whistleblower" BBC program about security at Manchester) because it's so close to the aircraft.
