Bodø Or Bodo?

Fri Nov 19, 2004 7:53 pm

I have during the last year taken many photos at Bodø Airport in Norway. Several of these photos are now on a.net, but I just realised that when running a search for Bodø, only 15 of them appear. It seems the remaining photos from the airport are found under “Bodo.” When searching for the IATA code, I get all pics, so that’s not a real problem. But wouldn’t it be better if they were all listed under the same airport name? Can this be fixed by someone?

Also, on a related note, how long before Bodø (BOO / ENBO) is found in the airport pulldown menu? It’s a larger and busier airport than other Norwegian airports on the menu, like Fagernes...  Smile

Just curious...

We don't use 'foreign' characters for place names, so the only vowels you should see in the database are:
a e i o u

No other forms, for example:
àáâãäå... and so on.

So from now on when I upload I should do it under the name "Bodo"?

Will the other images under "Bodø" be changed to Bodo?

Yep, go for Bodo (BOO / ENBO) when uploading. All other versions of Bodo in the database have been changed. You can of course spell it as "Bodø" in your remark.  Smile

As an act of patriotism, I will...  Big grin

Btw, what about the chance of a Bodø pulldown in the upload and search menu?

Argh, bloody spelling...  Smile

Well if my local airport with two airlines/aircraft can get added to the pulldown then surely so can the international airport in the north...  Big grin

There are a few other Norwegian locations that needs standardization in the upload menu i think.

Upload menu:
Aalesund - Vigra (AES) to Aalesund - Vigra (AES / ENAL)
Fagernes -Leirin (VDB) to Fagernes - Leirin (VDB / ENFG)
Molda - Aro (MOL) to Molde - Aro (MOL / ENML)

What about adding...
Bardufoss (BDU / ENDU)
Narvik - Framnes (NVK / ENNK)

Just some suggestions  Smile

Norway could do with standardising, but I've got too much on my plate to take on another country at the moment  Smile
