I am thinking about purchasing a used Canon D30. The one question I have relates to this camera's performance during night exposures.
I want to be able to use this camera for astrophotography, as well as for night exposures of aircraft, so I will need to be able to take exposures of about 30 seconds at maybe ISO 400. What can I expect from this camera in terms of noise at these settings? For example, how does it compare in this respect to today's DSLRs like the 300D, and also to something like what I use now, a low-megapixel P&S?
If anyone has any sample pictures they would like to share, I would appreciate that as well.
Thanks for your help.
