How Did He Get This Effect?

Sun Jan 02, 2005 10:55 am

Hey guys,
I have a question about Peter Unmuth's beautiful photo of an EVA Air MD-11. It appears to be natural light on the foreground, but it's dark out? It could be artificial light but it doesn't look like it to me. Here's the photo-

BTW Peter, great shot! It really brings out the MD-11's size!
Thanks in advance for your help!

My guess would be that the dark background is the inside of a hangar.

You can see metal support beams in the background. I think the bright plane, probably sitting in the sunlight, contrasts with the dark hanger, making it look like a dark night sky.
