Andy.... Its all in the planning
Im always very willing to offer info on LHR
if anyone asks. And i think most photogs here are also very kind and forthcomming with info on their home airports.
I already have the Newest Buch Air "Airports" book..... (infact i think i have every book going ). The problem is often it never mentions Hotels (as in this case). Also look on any Hotel website and the last thing they ever want to tell you about is the great airport views.
I have been a spotter for 30+ years (and a photographer for 1) and have always found it much better to speak to people on the ground rather than look in a book. Just look at the Miami Intl Hotel. Everywhere it states that you can view the aircraft from level 8. It even has on their current website pictures of the pool..... But thank goodness i spoke to Don as there now all closed !!!!
If someone would be kind enough to start a up to date website with all the hotels with airport views it would make my life so much easier.... There is a website run by some chap here in the UK with a Greek name. But after looking for over 2 hours last night without success i gave up...
Lindy : I ment aircraft spotting / photography sites for MIA
. Not just the airport website. Here in the UK we have Spotters/Photographers websites that cover best spots , views etc etc.... Guess were just spoilt over here
Visityyj : Cheers for the info. Good news about the hotel layout. Hope i have a more helpfull check in girl than i had when i visited the Hilton at FLL
. Thanks for the Eldorado Furniture tip aswell...... Just looks like MIA
is one of those annoying airports where everything lands and takes of drom 5 differnt runways. Why can't everyone be as helpfull as LHR
. One runway for landing and one for taking off. Nice and simple !!!!!
Thanks all and sorry for being a pain
