Spotting At LGA, La Guardia

Thu Jan 13, 2005 8:57 pm

Hi All!

I will be in New York for three days starting from the 27th Jan. Two weeks time.
Apart from getting my LIS lenses on the 28th I might, and I emphasize the word might , be able to do a bit of spotting for a few hrs at LGA, La Guardia. Test those lenses out!!! I will be staying in a hotel near Grand Central Station. So any web sites on how to get to LGA, and the spots for shooting etc.
If the opportunity arises I’d like to try and get some shooting in, but this is only a possibility that I’m hoping will happen.

Thanks in advance

Fergul

Ahhh I thought you were in Sydney!

I'll wait for the Americans to wake up and get back to me on the spotting at LGA.

Anybody up yet Big grin

As mentioned, Art Brett's site is terrific for LGA info. Plainview Park is right across the Grand Central Parkway from the airport, and right next to the College of Aeronautics (or whatever they call themselves these days.) If LGA is landing Rwy 4, you can just about reach out and touch them from Plainview.

As far as getting around without a car, check out http://www.mta.info/ for bus/subway info between Manhattan & LGA - specifically http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/airport.htm

Hope the weather is good when you are here!
