Spotting At Nashville

Tue Jan 25, 2005 6:31 am

I was sifting through some old posts today looking for some information about the current situation at BNA. I didn't find anything recent and I'm hoping that it is still a photographer-friendly airport. There have been some really nice looking pics that have been coming out of there and I was looking to maybe get in on the action since STL is not the most cooperative airport around. I'd really appreciate it if some of the locals could give some insight. Thanks!

A couple of the guys have maps of their favorite spots, but the 2 main spots are the observation lot on the west side of the field by the cargo buildings and the Firehall parking lot. A clear shot of runway 2r/20l can be had from the hall parking lot. The first 5 (except number 3) shots were taken from the firehall and the last 5 were taken from the observation lot. With a 300mm lens, you can photograph pretty much everything. Just do it during daylight hours.  Smile

Since you plugged my shots. Thanks by the way. After a lot of troubles in the past the observation area is not a problem at all, but the firehall lot can be, depends on who is patroling. You will see alot of Southwest aircraft here and alot of RJ's.

Feel free to email me for more info.

Thanks for the replies! What exactly is the firehall? I am guessing it is the airport fire dept. Hey, RJ's and 737's sound pretty good to me, oh and you're welcome for the plugs.  Big grin

Airlines that serve BNA (according to the airport's website) are Air Canada Jazz, American, American Eagle, Atlantic Coast, Atlantic Southeast, Comair, Continental, CO Express, Corporate, Delta, DL Express, Frontier, Independence, Northwest, Skyway, Skywest, Southwest, UA Express, US Airways, and US Airways Express.
