Spotting At CDG

Sat Feb 12, 2005 5:06 pm

Hi everyone,

I am planning a spotting trip to CDG sometime in the next few months and I would like to know the best spots at CDG for a days spotting? Is there a observation deck?

Any info is much appreciated.

Regards

James.

James,

I suggested that this topic be moved to this forum because this is where I have had the best luck for spotting help. For some reason or another no one has come forward and after a bit of looking I found a pretty cool site.

http://www.scramble.nl/airports.htm

Click on CDG under France airports.

I am going to be at CDG this up coming summer and asked the same question a while back. Here's the topic that I asked;

Just make sure to re-check that the spots are still in place just before you make your trip.

The spot near Terminal One was not available last summer, but its still on the Scramble map I see.

Lets hope that it'll still be OK each side of the link taxiway.

If using a car, use car park P-R, as its far cheaper but still walkable to the vantage spots in the central area.

Does anyone know which hotels around CDG offer a good view of the apron and/or runways? I was thinking of flying over in (or around) April...

Thanks!!!

I'd recommend the Hilton CDG:

If you want to get something cheaper than the Hilton, take a look at the Comfort Hotel Airport CDG. It's not quite near at the airport, but it's located just at the finals of the northern runways!
