Photograph Usage

Tue Feb 22, 2005 11:22 pm

I wonder whether other members have had their photos used other than in the usual publications.
A photo of mine of the Concorde 01 prototype at Duxford, has just been used on the packaging of a Herpa Wingsclub 1/500 model, namely

My only "payment" was a couple of samples of the model, but I feel quite chuffed nonetheless.

You didn't have any agreement on payment before you submited the picture?

I think now its too late to ask for anything more.

Know people who had deals with Herpa for the package cover photos.
Herpa stated they do not pay, but only send you some models!

If you agreed on that, no need to feel chuffed  Confused

Why not? Personally I would get quite a kick to see my photo on the packaging of a model, that would feel good. But then I guess for some of us aviation photography is a hobby, not a means of making money.

Good on you Malcolm!

Thanks Michael.

No disrespect, Florian but perhaps you do not understand the word 'chuffed' which is a relatively old English word meaning 'very pleased'.

As is sometimes the case, with Herpa you take it or leave it. I took it!
No disrespect to those who take photographs for financial reasons. I do it for pleasure, inward satisfaction, and the occasional high!

Nearly 1500 photos on Airliners is one of those highs.
