Help Needed On A Rejection

Fri Mar 11, 2005 6:50 am

Hi All  wave

Got this photo rejected for bad camera angle.

If I level it on the runway then the light post on the left goes out. I was re-working it this evening and discovered I did it the same way as the rejection. Like some advice as I like the shot and there aren't many photos of this plane in the DB, New Airbus to Aerlingus.

Thanks

Can't help with the angle, but I'm very curious as to what that is at the 5th window Big grin

Lovely light by the way!

Cheers

If you ask me, it looks like a hand holding a camera, pointing forwards...

After a thorough consultation with my girlfriend I'm sure it's some sort of Irish Cat/dog hybrid.

You got me going on this window thing, so I looked at the original shot and blew it up, WOW its amazing how clear that shot is, you can nearly make out the make of the camera, well done Thon@s, you've passed the eye test. Its another spotter taking a photo of the runway by the looks of things. And it is a point and shoot camera!!

Edit: Gary, would you like to elaborate on the bad angle, thanks.

Hi Fergul,

My theory is simple - if there is a vertical in the photo near to either edge of the frame it needs to be vertical, otherwise the vertical of the frame will show it up to be slightly off. That's the problem here, in my opinion.

I have that floodlight pylon on the left needing 0.2 degree CCW rotation.

Now you know how you can trust me on this  biggrin .

See you.

Paul

P.S. If I'm wrong I'll buy the take away!

Maybe use the clone tool to take out the light posts. It's hard to make the picture appear level with those things, no matter how you rotate it. Use the sign on the grass for levelling. The picture of the plane is great!

Fergul

No need to take it out on Peter.

You have had quite a few suggestions on how to fix the badangle. Reply number 9 says it all...except for the cloning idea. Use the sign posts.

You will probably find that the screeners will be looking for missing lamp posts now.

Regards

Gary

I'm not going down this path Gary.

I asked for suggestions and I apperciate all input. I have leveled this photo so that the post is vertical and yet I got it rejected, I'm looking for some advice. does it only need a small rotation like Paul, (Psych) says, is it that simple, or is there something more to it, I don't know that why I asking.

Peter is a photo screener and I would love to hear from him on how to fix it, I appreciate the input.

Peter I wasn't taking it out on you at all, sorry if this was taken the wrong way, just asking for some advice.

Take care

I use a 10D, 300mm f4 LIS with a 1.4 converter.
Settings are f8, ISO 100.

Thanks for the compliments.
