SB-600 Vs SB-800

Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:30 am

i'm in need of a flash for my D70. i'm also looking to pick up the nikkor 24-120 f:3.5 lens. i can't really wait on getting either of the two but right now i cant afford to get the lens and the SB-800 flash. is the SB-600 a good quality flash for it's price? does anyone have experience with both and can provide a side-by-side comparison?

My understanding is the SB600 is a slightly lower power output and cannot be used on the camera as the master flash in the cordless set up. I have the SB800 and it is brilliant. I use it with both lenses and it works really well with the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens as it has a larger aperture. I intend to buy a SB600 and use as the slave later this year.
