Best Pixel Size For 8x10 Inc Prints?

Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:21 pm

Can someone confirm what the best pixel size is for 8x10 inc prints. Stupidly i ordered the prints that i had edited at 736x1024 and needless to say they look rubbish.

Should i use the full pixel size appx 3600x2800 (or something like that). Or maybe 1600...

Cheers

Hi Simon

With the D30 I was upsizing to 3000 with no problems in quality at all. Prints were perfect.

With the 20D I am uploading the size out of the camera with a few cropping tweaks if need be. Again quality perfect.

1600 should still be good I think. When you upload to Photobox they have that litte 'Quality' indicator to let you know, in their eyes, the quality the print should produce.

Gary,

A3 prints straight from the 20D (largest JPG setting) are also very good - just add some USM & crop if required.

Hi all

Thanks Paul.

Not had a lot of prints done from the 20D yet but was actually thinking about some at the weekend. Will need to get an order together.

Regards
