Your Opinion On This Photo Please.

Tue Mar 15, 2005 2:36 am

Had this photo rejected for "badquality"

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...ons/big/PH-BUH_william06-03-05.jpg

It was just easier for me that it was rejected for baddistance or badcentered.
I can,t see the badquality of the aircraft. confused

I thought for this distance the photo was made it was in a acceptable quality range, but hey who am I  Wink
Or is the problem that I like the photo that much I don,t see it anymore.
I know this photo was easier to make on a nice summer evening with the sun behind you.

Can I save this photo for A.net or is better to keep it for my personal database:D

Please your opinion and suggestions.

William

I think that there is all of the a/c and just a little bit of the tower lowering the overall quality of the picture. If you are able to back that shot up a bit and get a bit more tower/airport in and pass it off as an airport overview. Shots like these;

I take the overview part back, im not too sure if that will pass as an overview... Try it out!

Thanks,

William..

I agree anyhow with Badquality terms. As you have said light isn't good enough although this 'silver look' produces a nice pic IMHO....
If it was because of the tower a Badmotiv call would be more accurate.
The TWR is focused but the a/c is out of focus or slightly blurred....

Just my 2 poor cents

William,

I really like the principle of your photo. Interestingly, when I opened it with my browser it appeared on the screen as more closely cropped and I felt that that improved the shot - slightly closer in on the tower and cutting out some of that sky above the top of the 747.

I would agree with Enrique, though, that it does suffer a bit with depth of field problems - the tower is noticably sharper than the aircraft.

But good luck with your next attempt at this - I certainly like the motive and somehow there is a real dynamic quality to the shot, for me.

William,
I think with the right lighting conditions it could be nice, but this shot is too grey and bland because it's backlit.
The sheer distance makes this a shot a nasty one to edit as it quickly turns grainy. But it can be done:

Thanks guys for the replys  Smile

When I look to the nice photo of Roel and the awesome photo of Ed it is clear my shot is not that bad but just not good enough for the A.net quality.

So my guess.. wait for the next oppertunity and some nice evening sun  Wink

BTW how are you Roel.. long time no see  Silly
