The Million Club - A Hudred Members.

Fri Apr 01, 2005 7:58 am

I was just browsing thru A.net with absolutely nothing to do and I came across the about page and found out that the million club has just past the hundred members; 102 actually.

The names are ordered by total views.

Congrats to all who appear on this list!

That's an impressive list. Only about another 850,000 views and I'll be there too  cheerful .

I'm off to get on the case  Wink .

I'm surprised I'm on the list seeing as I quit uploading photos over 2 years ago. Must be a longevity thing...

So 102 out of how many total photographers? 7,000? That's about 1.5% of all the people who have photos on here.

Even more impressive.

what do you mean "on Both sites?"

Surely you are not making reference to that blatant A.net rip off that inflates hit counters?

What is that, a "buy one get ten free" promotion?

Very nice guys and good work!...but i think the fellows who are below too need a hand (especially those on BOTH lists)....and a bow. Average hit is where the action is at (in my opinion).

Hmmm, nice to be reminded on those figures and facts...

But to be honest, I don't care and people that I met, know that very well. I don't say that I'm not pleased with it, but my main purpose of uploading was to submit some "other" photo's and fill up the database with rare of non-existent registrations with keeping the word - variation - in mind. Judging on figures and e-mails, I think the audience liked it...

But as said, my last uploads are in the Q, and I think it's time for a long break...

Saying goodbye for now, but not farewell...

Serge

I don't think we're allowed to mention the "other" site by name on this forum!  Wink

As I help to manage the scripts and database SQL server for "The Other" site, i'd like to see his evidence that we inflate hit counters, infact wasnt it AIRLINERS.NET who's scripts had been exploited to increase hit counters...!

I can say that NOTHING like Royal implies in his post happens at "The Other" site, and personally I feel he should retract that statement and apologise, cant the two sites live happily amongst eachother? PP.Net never arrives in the firing line, so why should we?

my views are my own, and have nothing to do with this website, and continuing this discussion in this thread will move it off topic.

Sure thing royal, but i dont appreciate those comments when i sometimes spend 6hrs per evening of my own time, making sure that the site runs fast and fair for all users...

I have nothing more to say on the matter, you are allowed your own opinion.

Nope these ridiculous comments wont ever end ....

Wherever there's some sort of competition there will be these types of comments ... and come on ... other sites are guilty too
