Yeah it's hard to see, but if you zoom in really close to a corner and then scroll around the edge of the image you'll notice there is almost a box that is slighty off-color encomposing the whole shot. I used to get this sometimes until I started using the crop tool in photoshop. Just crop them with the crop tool and you should be alright.

looks to me like on the bottom edge, on the left side there is some space that should be cropped off...but i can only see this on the 3 NW photos you have linked...

I'd like to know why all of a sudden my photos are getting these borders, I'm not doing anything different in PS.

Also so what, they aren't exactly intrusive!

I was recently hacked off due to a few pointless rejections, but now I just can't be arsed anymore. I am not going to spend even more time re-correcting these and submitting them again.

These are the photos in question.

Number One
Number Two
Number Three
Number Four
Number Five
Number Six
Number Seven
Number Eight
Number Nine

Thought I'd post them all as this will be the only way of seeing them. Roll on the final 2 rejections that have yet to be done.

Martin

As I said in the other thread about this subject, I am in the same boat, albeit on only a couple of shots and not on everyone that I have processed. I am doing nothing differently with these to what I have done on the other 200+ shots that have been accepted. I wondered if this problem maybe connected with auto-updates that occur with PS (I have Elements). Could there have been a dodgy download recently, because does seem odd that there has suddenly been a spate of these rejections?  Confused

This thread has a useful tip about canvas size that I will try when I have a go at the reworks

Thanks Willo, I have tried the canvas reduction and now that I have calmed down I will resubmit the photos.

I don't know whether this has anything to do with it, but in PS Help I found this section.

You can use commands in the Select menu to increase or decrease the pixels in an existing selection and to clean up stray pixels left inside or outside a color-based selection.

To expand or contract a selection by a specific number of pixels:

Choose Select > Modify > Expand or Contract.
For Expand By or Contract By, enter a pixel value between 1 and 100, and click OK.
The border is increased or decreased by the specified number of pixels. Any portion of the selection border running along the canvas's edge is unaffected.

To frame an existing selection with a new selection:

Use a selection tool to make a selection.
Choose Select > Modify > Border.
Enter a value between 1 and 200 pixels for the border width of the new selection, and click OK.
