Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 Quality

Tue Apr 12, 2005 1:19 am

I took delivery of my new Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 on Saturday. Right out of the box, it was broken and wouldn't work! I think they have some quality issues...

I always have a good impression about the Minolta products.

Did you buy extended warranty at the store?

Maybe it was broken there, not by manufacturer. Check immediately with them.

I called Konica Minolta and they told me to ship it back to the store (Buy.com), which I did. The next day, Buy.com sent us an e-mail saying that the shipping label they sent had their old address. Who knows where the camera is now...

I sent it UPS, which gives me hope, as they have a good tracking system. However, my wife just had a rolled up carpet dissapear into the UPS system.

So they must be responsible in that case? They must have an insurance.

Just an update: I got the replacement and have tried it out. My third shot was of a C-5A at very long range and it came out great.

Glad to hear that AeroWeanie! Although I have upgraded to the 5 MP Panasonic FZ-20, I will be keeping my 4 MP Z3 as a back-up and for those occasions when ultra-fast auto-focus is required.

Regards,

Jim
Erm, is this thing on?
